Leon Yacoubian is a Professional Engineer (P.E.) with expertise in transportation engineering, planning, and infrastructure systems. He has consulted for organizations such as the Asian Development Bank and the Yerevan Municipal Government, contributing to major urban mobility projects, including metro system modernization and electric transit initiatives.
Leon is an Adjunct Lecturer at the American University of Armenia, where he teaches courses on sustainable cities, engineering for non-engineers, and mathematical thinking. Previously, he held roles at the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) in Washington, D.C., Toole Design Group, and Kimley-Horn, as a Transportation Specialist managing transportation projects, policy development, and multimodal planning.
He holds a Master’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and has led interdisciplinary projects on earthquake-resistant structures in Armenia.
