Kiri Manookin, M.Ed., is an award-winning global educator, writer, former English Language Fellow, and TEDx speaker whose work blends academic rigor with empathy and mindfulness, reflecting her philosophy that education must address both intellectual and emotional wellbeing. A lover of people, words, and the wild, she has spent over two decades teaching and training educators worldwide.
Most of her professional experience involves teaching content- / project-based academic writing courses in higher education on subjects related to sustainability and resource management, and for nearly a decade, she taught in an environmental project-based learning program.
Kiri has been published in a variety of platforms, including literary and mindfulness journals and international education journals. Her 2025 TEDxAUA talk, “’Hue-manity: What Light Teaches Us About Each Other,” explores perception as a path toward empathy and understanding.
She is currently writing a memoir tracing ancestral memory, trauma, and reconciliation across shifting geographies of heart and history.
