
Hasmik Kyureghyan holds a PhD from the UCL Institute of Education (UK). She is a seasoned education researcher and consultant. Kyureghyan has conducted impactful education research for organizations such as the World Bank, UNICEF, and the Asian Development Bank. Her recent consulting work includes a comprehensive analysis of Armenia’s teacher policies funded by UNICEF and the Global Partnership for Education, and drafting a policy brief on teacher induction for the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport. She has conducted textbook studies at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Media. Previously, Hasmik was a principal contributor to the evaluation of Armenia’s national school curriculum. Beyond consulting, Dr. Kyureghyan brings extensive experience in designing teacher education programs. She has led teacher professional development at the National Program for Educational Excellence (Ayb Foundation) in collaboration with the UCL Institute of Education and the Government of Armenia. Her research on teacher professional learning has been published in the International Journal of Teacher Development, offering valuable insights into the intricacies of professional development policies. Educational resources co-designed by Kyureghyan have been twice featured at the Council of Europe’s “Innovation in History Education” conference, the premier conference on history education resources. As a co-founder of Paradigma Educational Foundation, Kyureghyan founded EdCamp Armenia, a BarCamp-type week-long unconference for educators garnering 5,000 unique online participants from 15 countries amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport has institutionalized EdCamp as a national recurring conference. Dr. Kyureghyan is a regular reviewer and presenter at the European Conference for Educational Research, the premier conference on education research in Europe.
