Alex Vartan Gubbins received a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with a poetry thesis, a Bachelor of Arts in African Languages and Literature at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and holds a Michigan Teaching License. He has authored poetry and translations in several publications, including the Northern American Review; And Here: 100 Years of Upper Peninsula Writing, 1917-2017; and Metamorphoses
