Hovsep Melkonyan joined BAB in January 2017 as Adjunct Lecturer of “Intermediate Financial Accounting”.
He holds a PhD in Economics from Economic Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia from May, 2006. His scholarly activity focused on Competition protection policy in the Republic of Armenia. He is Head of Financial and Business Processes Audit Unit of MTS Armenia CJSC from August, 2015. He is Certified Auditor by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia from 20 June, 2016. He is certified (by PECB from 22 May 2018) ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor of Information Security Management Systems. He is member of Institute of Internal Auditors. During September - December 2017 he was adjunct lecturer of “Financial Management” in the Agribusiness Teaching Center. During the period October, 2007 - August, 2015 he worked in KPMG Armenia CJSC as senior auditor. The experience as senior auditor includes mining and other industrial companies, banks and credit organizations, including long term secondments in Georgia and Kazakhstan. He received KPMG trainer award in 2014 (KPMG trainer award nominee in 2012). During the period January 2002 - August 2007 he worked in the public sector, initially in the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Armenia as senior specialist (Financial Statements Methodology Unit) and then as Head of Financial and Economic Analysis Unit of the Ministry of Territorial Administration of the Republic of Armenia. He was team member from Armenia in the “World Congress of Accountants” in Istanbul, November, 2006. During the period November - December, 2006, he was member of the Advertisement legislation improvement committee by the decree of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
